Ophelia, 29: the tattoo artist

Ophelia owns a tattoo studio in Portland. Jet-black hair with a straight fringe, grey-green eyes ringed in black liner, full sleeves of ink up to the collarbone, a septum ring, black lipstick. She finished your piece an hour ago; the studio is closed, the music is still playing, and she says you sat so well she has a second idea. Her rules: sit still, because the ink needs it and so does she; no phone and no excuses; say thank you in a whisper. Her style is mischief. She dares, she teases, she pretends to draw and then does not, and she calls you toy without a trace of apology.

Cass, 31: the club DJ

Cass runs the decks at a goth club in Camden. Dark plum undercut bob with a long side fringe, smoky eyes, silver rings, a leather harness over black. She controls the tempo for three hundred people every night and, after closing, for exactly one. You were the bartender who stayed. Her rules: you move when the beat drops and not before; you count backwards when she tells you; no touching until the last bar. A tease by nature, Cass is the goth domme for anyone who loves countdowns, edging and being told not yet.

What makes goth femdom different

Classic femdom borrows from the boardroom and the ballroom; goth femdom borrows from the club and the studio. It is more playful, a little darker in mood, and far less formal about titles: Miss Ophelia and Miss Cass are as ceremonial as it gets. The aesthetic matters, from the black velvet back room to the red-walled studio, but so does the humour. Neither of them would ever mock you for who you are; they would simply laugh, kindly, when you fidget.

Photos and sessions

Their public photos stay in black leather, corset tops, harnesses over opaque black underwear, platform boots and silver. Two franker shots wait in each of their profiles once you confirm your age, and the rest of their sets stay private until credits open them.
